Joanna Wald is the Head of Research for US Small and Mid Cap Team at Schroders Investment Management and is based in New York. Prior to her appointment of Head of Research in May 2019, Joanna was a senior analyst on the team covering consumer stocks. Before joining Schroders, Joanna was with Ballast Capital Management (2010-2012) as an analyst focusing on the consumer sector. Ballast offered a long/short US equity product. Prior to Ballast she was with Ramius Capital (2008 - 2010) as a consumer analyst also working on a US equity long/short portfolio. The Ramius team left that firm to form Ballast. For the period 2006-2008 she was with Trivium Capital Management as a Senior Analyst for a long/short equity fund focusing on consumer stocks. She began her investment career with Century Capital Management (2001-2003), a long-only investment firm. She was an analyst with responsibility for health care and other business services industries. Joanna has also held positions with Liberty Mutual Insurance (1999-2000) as a financial analyst and Ernst & Young (1998-1999) as an actuarial analyst. Bob Kaynor is Head of US Small and Mid Cap Equities and Portfolio Manager at Schroders, which involves being an important part of the investment decision making process and the co-ordination of the analyst team. Robert joined Schroders as a senior equity analyst in 2013, became Research Director in 2014 and Co-Portfolio Manager in 2018 alongside Jenny Jones. He joined Schroders in 2013 and is based in New York. Bob was the Chief Investment Officer and Managing Member at Ballast Capital Group from 2010 to 2013, which involved managing a fundamental long/short portfolio. He was a Managing Director/Portfolio Manager at Ramius Capital Group from 2003 to 2010, which involved co-managing a hedged equity product with a goal of generating non-correlated positive returns whilst managing risk. He was a Partner/Analyst at Barbary Coast Capital Management from 2000 to 2003, which involved co-managing a long/short equity hedge fund focused on small and mid cap equities. He was a Analyst/Assistant Portfolio Manager at RCM Capital Management from 1994 to 2000, which involved working exclusively on a domestic long only small cap product recommending and covering equities.
