本基金主要投資於日本發行機構或以日本為主要營商之地的機構所發行的股票，以達致長期資本增值的目標。此外，本基金亦可物色其他證券類型的投資機會，例如優先股，可兌換普通股證券，以日圓或非日圓定值的公司及政府的債券承擔。

  Ferdinand Cheuk is senior vice president, portfolio manager and research analyst in the Templeton Global Equity Group. He manages a number of Asia Pacific and Japan portfolios and is also a member of the Global Leaders Investment Team. His research responsibilities include internet and technology and country coverage on Hong Kong, China and Taiwan.
  
  Prior to joining Templeton in 2016, Mr. Cheuk was a senior investment analyst with HSBC Global Asset Management in Hong Kong where he also managed regional and country portfolios. He entered the financial industry in 1996 having worked at JP Morgan, Merrill Lynch and the Capital Group.
  
  Mr. Cheuk holds a Bachelor of Science (Economics) degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from Kellogg-HKUST. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder.
